Masters in Forensic Psychology Programs and Resources

Forensic psychologists use principles and methods of psychology in collaboration with legal professionals to assist in legal action. The forensic psychologist must be knowledgeable in the fundamental legal system. A forensic psychologist may have a PsyD or PhD in clinical psychology or other “health services” psychology branch. Many degree programs offered with study in forensic psychology are actually clinical psychology degree programs with an emphasis in a form of forensic psychology, although some schools do offer “forensic psychology” programs. A few career settings in forensic psychology include forensic assessment and consultation services to justice systems, law enforcement agencies, the FBI, court accountability programs, correctional institutions, homeland security, and social services.
